I Must Behave

Bruce Connew

Tuesday 03 February - 28 February

"This new series examines the notion that wherever we might be, we are controlled by social, cultural and political mores... customs, conventions, ways of life, traditions, practices, habits."

The images in the series were collected in a number of different countries around the world. The exhibition also includes the Censored triptych recently shortlisted in the 2007 Waikato Art Awards.

This series follows on from the 2007 surveillance project I Saw You , and is the second in a series of three projects each examining a different social/political theme.

The exhibition features 14 images from the series, 90 images will be publicized as an artist's book, and the full series of 150 images will be available on DVD.
