Beneath the Blue

Joanna Langford

Wednesday 23 June - 18 July

Jo Langford transforms ordinary spaces with plastic bags and cardboard and computer keys and skewers and decorative grass. Her delicate miniaturised architecture often have their own lighting systems, and as with her Beyond Nowhere installation at the Christchurch Art Gallery, even their own cloud system.

The Beneath the Blue series is a number of wall panels against which delicate skylines are suggested. These antennae like images tower above plastic bag clouds in some, and green lawn patches in others.

The Any Dream series are freestanding pylon-esque sculptural works that make you think of the moon or the footprint of human activity down in the Antarctic.
